Garden updates

Happy baby spinach.jpgThere's a lot growing in the gardens already! In one garden I have baby greens, radishes and scallions well on their way towards the first harvest, and elsewhere there are already carrots, beets, bok choy, dill, cilantro, parsley, and basil that have been direct-seeded. Today I transplanted tomatoes outdoors (with protection), while the peppers, cucumbers and later-season tomatoes wait patiently at home for warmer soils.

The greens are now at a point where any day they'll be quite ready to become somebody's salad...

More updates coming soon! I'll be demonstrating how we convert a plot that was cover-cropped in rye over the winter to a planted garden in a matter of a week.

Ontario spring season

We've had a really warm spring with very few days of frost (if any) over the past month or so - until a couple of days ago!
I was tempted to plant some early stuff, but I'll be patient and wait another week or two. Of course, I don't have to go to market to make some dough...

Oh! The garlic, of course, has been up for some time and is quite advanced, actually.

Good luck!
